Cantharis 6c
This is a go-to remedy for acute severe cystitis with a constant need to urinate, even if there is little urine (tenesmus). There are stinging and burning pains before, during and after urinating accompanied by intense, burning, cutting pains in the neck of the bladder (urethra).
Staphisagria 6c
Known as the ‘honeymoon’ cystitis remedy for women as symptoms are worse after intercourse. There is a frequent urge to urinate (often a thin stream or drop by drop) with burning pain when not urinating. You may also feel pain after urinating with an irritable bladder.
Sarsaparilla 6c
A keynote for this remedy is that there is severe pain and burning at the end of urination. It is often easier to urinate while standing rather than sitting, as urine tends to dribble while sitting. Urine can be scanty, slimy, sandy or bloody.
Equisetum 6c
Known as a kidney and bladder tonic, this remedy is also useful for urinary retention (an inability to completely empty the bladder) in women during pregnancy and after childbirth. There is a constant need to urinate and pass large quantities of clear, light coloured urine without relief. Women often experience a severe, dull pain that does not improve after urinating.
